Thank you for the replies.

Update on my fix if anyone is interested. I decided to go to the dealership to order the part (I know it is far from the most inexpensive, but I wanted to keep everything OEM and proper (in my mind).

700$ for the replacement splitter plus 4$ for each of the rivets. I was going to replace it myself until I realized it is also held on by rivets.

I wanted it replaced as close to the factory as possible, I had the dealership replace it. Sounds like it produces downforce and is designed for high speed, I didn't want to mess with replacing this myself. 140$ for labor. All in all just under 1000$ Don't crack your front splitter! After 4 years of ownership and not a scratch on the car, this being the only damage, I justified the cost of this.

Seeing a brand new C7 Grand Sport sitting on the lot got me thinking of trading in the 1LE. Decisions decisions.....

It is a known issue that the OEM front splitter plastic is thin and cracks too easily. You can drill out the rivets and the replacement still holds on fine at high speeds on track with just the bolts and double sided tape. Ikon used to sell a OEM lookalike splitter with thicker plastic but that page is now removed from their website. Hopefully there is another sturdy lookalike available somewhere out there for the many more people who will also inevitably crack their front splitter in the future.

Next time you can just buy the part online for ~$450 and install it yourself, it's a very simple job. The gloss black GM splitter is part #84116168, yours may be matte black, if yes, a bit of research will be needed for that part number, it should be in the close vicinity of the other one.

Thank you for the info. You're right, it is very simple. I was planning on doing it myself, took out all the bolts and realized that rivets. Being a performance/track oriented model I didn't want to screw around (no pun intended) with this. I knew I was being ripped off at the dealer, but for peace of mind I went through the dealer in order to be sure I was getting the factory splitter, and factory rivets being done right. the 800-1000$ was no big deal for being the only cost of ownership after my 4 years of owning it. You live and learn haha.

I agree, the factory splitter is very brittle. My story behind breaking was about a year ago, I cracked it. I was living with the crack (wasn't very noticeable) until a few weeks ago I was pulling into a parking spot. There was a small mound of snow at the front of the spot. I lightly tapped it in neutral. Turned out it the snow was rock hard. That small tap and the crack being there shattered the splitter all over the parking lot haha!

What part number did you end up ordering? I'm currently in the market for one as well with a large hole right in the middle from road debris.

Go to GM Parts direct, they should have the spoilers. Had to remove bolts, drill out rivets and lots of double face tape to get the spoiler off. Took my time on installing the replacement. No issues.
