Sparco Evo for Autocross / HPDE?
Hey guys, looking to get something with a bit more bolster since my RE-71Rs are providing the car enough grip to pull some nice G's around corners. The downside is of course that I have to brace so hard it has become difficult to focus on driving at times.
The seat I am considering as of now is the Sparco Evo (suggestions are welcome). I also wanted to check here to make sure they actually fit the car before ordering. On the same topic, from what I have read the Planted seat brackets apparently wiggle, which is ironic for the name lol. Does anyone know how Sparco's brackets do? I would assume a company with that much "clout" would care to make I higher quality product, but I've been wrong before. |

XL is a tight fit, had to slightly angle it to get it in but it'll go. The large on the passenger side fits nicely. The Brey Kraus bracket is solid, check them out.

Thanks man. Gotta admit your setup looks sweet too. Which sliders (if any) did you go with?

kropscamaro16 - the qrt-r does look to be a slight upgrade over the regular Evos I'm looking at but I'm not sure that it will work with sliders? The website says it requires special sidemounts, can those be used in tandem with sliders?
I just want the ability to move the seat around a bit since race position tends to be uncomfortable for longer drives, which for me means my commute to and from the track. This is probably a "noob" question I know, just haven't done it before. |

Make sure the seat you get will fit in the car, some don't.

I ended up going with the Evo L since they are a known good fit according to Baddawg53. Now to wait 6-8 weeks for delivery *womp womp*. Going to attempt the wiring harness long term since I do have a thing for not having dash lights. I'm not sure where or how to put the resistors though.

I went Sparco everything (seat base and sliders) to avoid any potential headaches of stuff not quite lining up. I just received my stuff today and was all ready to throw it on in and realized that there are no bottom mounts on the Evo SMH... could have sworn I had read that they were bottom mount capable lol Oops! Just ordered the Sparco side mounts (the regular ones since this seat page didn't mention any specific side mounts) with the accompanying hardware. Now hopefully no more issues. Hopefully I'll have a pretty install pic to post this week or next
