Anyone notice how crushed the pipes are behind the suitcase? Mine were like crushed to 1" wide at most.

Why is exhaust so expensive on these cars? Is it because of the NPP?

They are all pricey on all cars. I came out good on my trade. Only $400 plus my factory suitcase for a Borla S type non NPP. I had the NPP option but i am fine with it open all the time and never did fool will the settings.

Oh yes people have noticed and asked why it was that way. My 2016 SS was that way and my 2017 ZL1 has the crushed section too. According to sources that crushed section doesn’t have a negative effect on hp or anything else. I do think that my ZL1 might be louder with regular piping there though.

I'm between these (s-type & AWE touring). Not a fan of raspy/poppy sounding either. I'm coming from the stock (non-npp) exhaust & want a "more full v8 sound", but don't want super loud. I thought (at least in the YT vids) the ATAK & Track AWE were too loud.
Also plan to keep my secondary cats. Sound like a fudd rn, but tickets are no bueno. Thoughts? Camaro is my DD. How did your sounds change, stock v. exhaust swap? 1.2x 1.5x 2x? Also, nitefall, was your touring edition resonated or unres? Foxy did you DD the S-type? catback or axleback? Last edited by KindaOrange; 02-08-2021 at 09:57 PM. Reason: more info |

I dailied the quad tipped non npp S-Type axleback for over a year and it was great. Deep throaty sound, one of the quietest aftermarket exhausts around but still has some balls, and the V8 girgle at idle was fantastic(still miss that). Once I added headers, removed cats, and replaced the rest of the piping it was a little more volume than I wanted.

Came from a 16 Mustang Gt with roush axle backd and a H pipe to factory exhaust. The Camaro i bought has the AWE touring and I personally think it’s too quiet. The cold starts are tame compared to the mustang.
Not accelerating too much and it’s tame when driving around the neighborhood. Side question: When I removed the secondary suitcase mufflers on the GT their was a huge difference in sound. Does the AWE cat back have these mufflers and does AWE make a H or X pipe to replace? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I can’t stand cackling exhaust. Even the ATAK trips my dislike meter. The S-Type was a little, & I mean little, louder at cruise speeds on the highway. Much more noticeable, but in no way obnoxious, around town. Dip farther into the pedal, however, & it was an excellent balance of volume & tone. Soooooo much better than stock. If I were to get one for the Z, which I may one day, it would hands down be the S-Type. No hesitation about that. The only decision that eludes me is which tips to get.
