Does the probability of getting an order accepted depends on the options in that particular build. For example, customer A has a ZL1 with PDR and customer B has the same exact build without PDR when PDR is on constrain. Does customer B has higher probability on getting his order accepted assuming everything else remains the same. Also at which stage of the process is the build locked. I would assume its anywhere between 2000 and 3000.

I have custom ordered vehicles from other brands and would like to know more about the GM process.

I’m pretty sure my dealer would give the 2SS 1le allocation to a regular 2SS in front of me and make me wait for a second 2SS 1le allocation to reach the dealer before I get mine.

You may as well get a call saying we got a ZL1 allocation we can use on your order but you'll have to delete the PDR, or X or Y in order to get it accepted by GM and move past 1100.
Gotcha. So having it on there may take it longer for the order to get picked up, but once its picked up (or if), there shouldn't be an issue dropping it off if there's an allocation. Something to think about...

Every single ZL1 I see out on a lot is either going for a heavy markup, or something is wrong with it. Thought I found one today and made a deal at 1k over sticker, got my trade, all good, then I find out it has 140 miles on the odometer cause some idiot bought it and the sale got reversed for some stupid reason, I don't know.

The whole process has me pretty fed up with GM. Starting to not care if I get the damn thing and just stick with the SS.

Usually, the dealer will get an allocation but if it has any constraints like PDR, then dealer should call the customer and say, hey GM will accept your order if you drop the PDR, and then let the customer decide. What winds up happening with the supply shortage is they call/text the salesman every Thursday to see if they received an allocation this week. This is why some folks place order with like 3-4 dealers just to improve their odds of getting an allocation.

My understanding is that once you reach 3000 status no changes can be made, at least that is they way is has been on the Corvettes I ordered.

Here is a list of the status codes.

Great, thank you for the explanation. Once i decide to move forward, i am planning to place my order with multiple dealers like what i did for my previous vehicle.

Its pretty much the same for any vehicle which is in demand. I know several people who waited for more than 7 months to get a M3 build allocation and it takes another 3-4 months to get the vehicle to the dealership. So the total wait time might be closer to a year or more.

This is very True, a co worker ordered a Toyota Highlander Hybrid and was told expect to wait 8-12 months.
