Mine is actually a stick and my 60 foot is more like 2.1 at best. I just get on the gas hard off the line and go, and it doesn't seem like the tires are smoking. The car just doesn't like to be launched at all, not on the strip. On a closed road however the tires will spin and it would hookup and go like hell but just not on the strip.
One thing I noticed however is that towards the end of the quarter it feels like the power is gone. I don't know what that could be.
I just don't go to the drag strip anymore. Instead i drive it on the windy back roads.
I went to maple grove raceway in Pa and I don't know what the elevation is out here. The temp was in the 50's. I remember a cts-v was running 12.0 and 11.9 that day.
I'll probably try one more time in the fall after I get new tire.

You should data log a run if you have access or know someone. You should be running stronger than that either way with your mods

I'm running the M&H 17" drag radial on a weld RTS rim. I haven't looked for a while but I think I still hold the Camaro5 record for fastest 60ft on a drag radial with a manual transmission. 1.490. I have the ADM solid rear subframe bushings and no other suspension modifications other than alignment changes. I took off the road racing alignment (max negative camber all around) and have everything pretty straight and tall for the standing mile and drag racing. I'll keep things that way until I run it in the mile in Oct and then will probably go back to road racing alignment.

If you can afford another set of rims, I think the 17" drag radial is the place to go. I also own the Hoosier 17" drag radials that are only 26" tall. I have not made a pass on them yet but I think with my non-stock gear ratios, I might be able to get out of the hole faster with a shorter tire. I need my car so I can do some testing!!!

Maybe not everyone agrees, but it's possible the OP will never be satisfied with the ZL1 and before wasting time and money on it, it's good to have some insight.

Just like people get angry in the V6 forums when people tell them to trade up to an SS... it might not be what you want to hear but it is still helpful
And same thing with SS forums getting told they should've bought a ZL1
..doesn't matter what car, owners will get defensive when told they should've gotten something else. All comes down to modifying it to suit your needs, otherwise get something else.

I have to hear crap from my friends every time I go to work. The only thing she is good for is roll races. I spanked my friends c6 z06 by 4 cars the other day. I could not believe it. The car dynoed 457 or so stock and gained 100hp from the new setup.

Launch control causes serious wheel hoop I have to let off. I don't know what else to do.
But nevertheless I love the way it handles and looks. Complements everywhere I go. I just wish she gave me just one 11 second time. My friend is holding the faster quarter mile time at work with his c63AMG running 12.0 @ 118. I can't seem to touch that but I do beat him pretty bad on the streets. Probably around 5 cars or so. I run my car on pretty cool day too but no luck.

Hitting the gas off the line is all I can do to run that time after doing a burn out. I will buy an OBD scanner to see what my iat 2 is reading just like everyone else is doing. Heck I'm even scared to buy tires for fear I do not run a faster time. That is more stuff for my friends to pick on. I'm guessing it is probably heat soak like some of you are suggesting but until I buy the scanner I would not know. I actually have let the car sit for a while at the staging lane and still had no luck. Also tried Pulling the fuse and only gained 8hp, so I don't know what else.

Like I said earlier I love my Z, I just wished she gave me that 11s time slip.
The only time I have ever had wheel hop issues is when I forgot to turn off the traction control.
I would highly recommend Mickey Thompson drag radial or M@H over Nittos

Running any modified car without the ability to data log the run is playing Russian roulette. The car is seriously down on power. (My M6 car trapped 122 with 560rwhp) If you find a way to data log your car, the issue will be apparent.

Def need to work on launching. 2.1 60ft is what my friend gets on his 2013 v6 camaro with all season tires

All that means is it is way easier to launch with way less HP

No it means there a lot left in that 60ft. to work on different launch technics.
Got a 1.88 60ft with 300treadwear street tires and 760HP so not impossible

I have got a 1.81 on stock tires. I was pointing out that it is actually a little easier to launch a manual over all with less horsepower, so the v6 comment is moot .

I have gotten a 1.78 with stock tires 100% stock in PTM 5. I was really surprised how well they did.
