ZL1 Scarcity

Just completed a 2400 mile RT to Key West and back to TN (drove wifes Expedition). Observed 10 C8 Corvettes, more C7's, C6's than I could count. At least 100 different Porsches. One Bentley, a Lambo, and 2 McLarens. Couple of Maserati's and about 20 Jags.

ONE ZL1. Now there was a chance some of the Camaros on the other side of the interstates were Z's but I couldnt of missed many.

Interesting side fact. Once we hit Rt 1 in Homestead Florida and headed south to the Keys the most common vehicle was a Jeep Wrangler and most were the 4 door version. I believe the rental companies supply many of the Wranglers.

I have a 2013 ZL1 convertible and live in the Metro Detroit area.
Living in the Detroit area, you'd think our Camaro's would be plentiful.

I bought mine in August of 2012, about 8 1/2 years ago. Over those years, outside of car shows or Cars & Coffee events, I can count on a single hand how many ZL1's I've seen on the road. I'm not talking about just ZL1 convertibles, I mean ZL1's in total.

I see plenty at the car shows, and of course at the Dream Cruise, but driven on the roads? Not so much.

I live just outside of Port Huron, MI. I'm in Kimball, MI. and I have only seen a couple ZL1's in my area. I have seen a bunch of Camaro's mostly SS's but only a couple ZL1's. I'm sure there are more as you get closer to Detoilet ( Detroit)

Doing that drive you would have come pretty close to my area. I live in a subdivision of 299 homes in Martin County Fl and there are 2 other ZLE's in my little subdivision and a ZL1 in the subdivision right next to ours but with that said I have seen several C8's running around town. The guy about 10 houses away said he bought one after watching me drive by for the last 2 years.

I live outside Newark DE / Elkton MD and travel in Wilmington DE almost every day. I've never seen another ZLE on the road ever. I've seen a couple ZLE at the racetracks. I've seen a couple ZL1 on the road around here. they are not common on the road in this area at all. I see way more Shelby GT350s (non Rs) on the road (never seen a GT350R on the road, but have seen one at the track).

I've seen several C8s recently. tons of C7s. the guy two doors up from me has a C7 Z06/Z07 in fact.

ZL1’s a re rare for sure.

Re: Wrangler Unlimited (4 door), I’m not sure what you’re asking but I’ll bet they weren’t all rentals. We’ve owned 6 Wranglers and 5 are 4 door. Fun year round, versatile Vehicle. The JL (2018+) is the best yet and the resale value is insanely good. Talked my neighbor into renting one in Moab, now he’s looking at buying one.

ZL1’s are rare sightings here in Northern Virginia too. Only ones I’ve ever seen on the road around here were going to or from a local Cars & Coffee. I’ve yet to see a ZL1 1LE being driven on the road. I’ve seen a few on trailers heading into VIR are the only ones I’ve ever seen on the road.

I don't think it's a scarcity issue on that particular drive. I just think that if you're seeing those types of cars then you're not likely going to see Camaros. From the types of cars you mentioned, it doesn't sound like your typical "Camaro" type crowd.

Yes ZL1s are scarce where I live too! I have only seen 2 6gens including a ZLE and probably 3 or 4 5th gens here in my city. There are more SS and RS Camaros that I have seen than ZL1s.

Just reporting my observations. I realize how much fun a Wrangler is and own a 2021 Rubicon JL.
