First Oil changing

Hi guys

As you could see it’ s gonna be thé first oil change.

Thé problem is that here in France no garage want to do it.

So I’m going to do it by myself but... I’m a poor mechanical... and afraid to make mistakes...

Thé oil is 0w40 and I got it in castrol

1) how many liters needed ?

2) is there a gasket to change for thé o ring and of there is one thanks to tell me the référence to order it.

3) thé oil filter : could you tell me the best and the référence to order it (on the same web site would be cool) ?

4) Is there also a oil filter gasket ?

Thanks to all of you
Have I forgotten something ?

For thé oil changing is there something spécial or complicated ...

Don’t be shy to tell me all you know cause as I said I’m a fool mechanical lol

10 quarts of oil

The oil filter is a total replacement, the gasket is attached. When removing the old filter verify the gasket came off with the old filter. That’s always good practice

Order a genuine ac delco oil filter pf64

You need a good oil filter wrench. I install my oil filter by hand and only use the wrench to remove
I use something like this

https://www.amazon.com/ULTRACRAFT-UL.../dp/B07D1HMT5B

The oil chnage is very easy, you don’t need to remove any panels or plates. The filter installs vertically so you can prefill the oil filter with oil prior to screwing it on. You have high likely hood to not spill a drop of oil with this car. You can reach the filter by reaching from behind the front driver side wheel.

The Castrol oil you bought is not the correct oil. Others with more knowledge may weigh in and opine whether it is safe for the car.

This is the correct oil. https://www.jegs.com/i/Mobile+One/65...RoC2q4QAvD_BwE

That oil looks correct but for some reason it doesn't say Dexos2.

I usually order from here as a kit.

No gasket if anything I would order enough to have for at least 2 oil changes.

Also I wasn't even aware the Castrol made 0w-40 dexos 2 I know they make 0w-40 but it's not dexos 2. Do you happen to have a picture of the bottle?

According to GM there are but 2 licensed 0w40 dexos2 oils. One of those is Castrol &, the other, Mobile-1.

https://www.gmdexos.com/brands/dexos2/index.html

That is not to say there aren’t others that meet the specification requirements, but only 2 that pay royalties to GM to carry the Dexos2 labeling.

Hey Yves, a US quart is actually 0.95 liters, so don't try to put 10 liters in and overfill, you only need 10 quarts, that is, 9.5 liters.
