You’re welcome! If you do eventually find out exactly what it is and does, please post in here for the curious. 👍🏻

Haha. When the engine run it spins cause it doesn’t tighten so it literally is a damn fidget spinner.

Mitch, not going to uncover my 2020 2SS until at least Wednesday this week due to a change in my schedule... However, upon further thought, is this part connected to the "Sound Tube" in any way??? (My 2020 2SS does not have a factory sound tube). If it is, I imagine that is some type of breather for the sound tube... (I've spent a fair amount of time under my hood and don't recall seeing that part...)

I know this isn't a close up, but this is a picture of my engine compartment and I don't really see the same thing there...

Even in a zoomed in view:

I think it might be part of the sound tube (which I don't have as the factory recently deleted it)...

Wow so this little piece is getting more and more curious for me lol. Your idea definitely seems possible I’ll have to check tomorrow when I clean the car and take it out. I do know that when the engine is running the cap on top of it spins a little bit since it does not tighten, which may be a result of air or something of that nature getting released from it. And no rush at all with your car, whenever u take it out is fine. I appreciate your help tho seriously.

IDK the name or function but I can confirm it’s on my 2017. It’s hard to see because it sits lower on the older cars.

That is interesting. I’ll have to take a closer look for that piece in my 2017. There is a chance I missed it if it is not in the same spot and/or sits lower. 🤔

Very hard to see with the manifold on. With the manifold off it’s very visible.

Take your hand and locate the brake booster line standing on the driver side, I’d move your hand towards the passenger side and you should feel that piece.

Or take a video with your phone.

If it wasn’t for doing an IM swap today, I wouldn’t have been able to get that photo.

I'm guessing the ones that have it are auto cars and the ones that don't are manual.
