Maggie 2650 Before & After Questions (pre-build)
Looking for some personal experiences and feedback on owners with similar mods. I have a 2017 ZL1 A10 and I am bouncing around the idea of adding the following mods:
Magnuson 2650, Big Gulp CAI, 103 TB, 2" Headers, Tune and a number of other odds & ends for support but these are the main components of the build. I do not want to go with a cam (yet) so I am curious as to how owners with a Maggie 2650 on their ZL1 feel about this finished product. My goal is only about 675-700ish RWHP, so I understand I will not be exceeding that without a cam & fueling mods. My goal for now is just to be in the 675-700 RWHP range with a solid set-up/build. Thank You for your input & experiences.

You can hit your goal without spending $6000 on a Maggie

Without a Maggie or Cam? What would get her there?

FBO (Including a UD and a Pulley Drop), Ported Blower and some Fuel should get it there!
PLEASE Correct me if I'm wrong! Last edited by Domo14SS; 06-17-2020 at 04:00 PM. |

It will be the best 6k you'll spend as you'll have killer low intake temps you'll never see with a port blower. Any additional mods you decide to do will only show how much the 2650 will shine. Sell your Lt4 blower after you get the 2650 done and you'll be much happier in the long run. Probably only end up spending 3500.00 or so. Go for it.

You are looking at doing the exact setup I have done. My car makes around 700ish rwhp and I went with the 2650R because I track my car, I need it to make 700ish rwhp every lap, with ease, without slowing down because it's getting hot.
If you aren't going to be tracking, I'd advise a Joker full tit ported blower LTs and a tune, you'll get about 660-675 rwhp on 93 and really enjoy the setup. If you have E85 in your area, just a Big Gulp and FlexFuel/Tune (no headers) has been shown make 650-660 rwhp all day long, again not ideal for track for obvious reasons. I love my setup, it's tuned for track so it hits "softer" than the factory blower car, builds power in a very manageable way and has proven to be super consistent. In the few rando street races I've done, the car seems to be trapping around 139-143 mph (just a guess based on the cars I've messed with)

Our stage 2 package is a max effort bolt on package. We generally make 675-700rwhp with this set up. It's cheaper then a 2650 as well It comes with a ported blower, 103 throttle body, Roto-Fab, ATI 15% overdrive balancer and 2"headers. That being said the 2650 is a great option to start with. No real heat soak issues and way more power on tap when you're ready. We're doing the best pricing on them if you're interested. We're also doing free installs on these kits. |

The only real downside to the Magnuson is there isn't much room for port injection but I'm sure it could be done. It will put down more power then the Whipple but it's not like the Whipple can't get you to 1000rwhp if it's built right. A lot of guys want these 2650s and they're selling like hot cakes. Nothing wrong with that at all but keep your end power goals in mind. You can hit 800-900rwhp with a Heartbeat 2300 blower if you want and they are significantly cheaper then even the Whipple. |

I went with a Maggie 2650 because of very specific requirements that have to do with emissions in my state (I go the CARB-intent kit). I also wanted something I wouldn't have to spin the crap out of and build a lot of heat to get to about 650-700 RWHP. I'll never see the potential of the 2650 in this car, but that wasn't the point for me. I didn't want to have to beat the air to get to the power I wanted with the 1740, so this 2650 just fit my exact requirements perfectly.
I think if you think you'll want to push more than 700-RWHP and do more than roll races, perhaps a 2650 is worth considering. The old-CEO of Magnuson and his son are working on a PI-addition to his son's LT1 SS, with a 2650, and it sounds like they were successful. He's said from the introduction of this unit that it would accommodate port injection, and now he's proving it will work. He's got a thread in the Forced Induction Section I think, but I'm nothing but completely happy with Magnuson's kit. There are lots of options for everyone out there, but I think it's critical to make sure you know exactly what you want and where you might want to go down the road. You'll have a heap of potential left with a 2650, and there are some really good prices right now to boot.

That is a wide open question. I am about $4800 for an edelbrock 2650, all in with tuning and 670WHP and barely spinning it.
I had no other upgrades at the time
