Build sheets

Has anyone found any sheets other than in the trunk? I know there were a couple folks here that worked on the line at that time- looking at a car that has none but curious if they were ever stuffed in seat springs or under carpet like the good ole days. TIA

My factory signed build sheet was placed in the center console, and I was tipped in advance to look for it there.

We don't post the document here because this practice was frowned upon by management, and we didn't/don't want our factory friends to have any hassles at their workplace.

Wonder why practice is frowned upon as normally the Corvette build sheet is in the trunk which ours was. It's a neat thing to have for sure!

IMO: in an informal process, autographing a build sheet for cars coming off the line would be hit and miss in both directions. Some build sheets would not be signed--- forgot, too busy, out sick, on vacation, etc. And owners who did not ask for such, would not care. It just doesn't fit cleanly in a high-volume manufacturing model or mentality.

Not so sure about these cars but back in the day they were just used as build guides for line workers and were supposed to be cleaned out. Norwood Camaro sheets were always more rare than Van Nuys built cars- but if you've ever found one it's like a kid on Christmas morning. You would be surprised how few gen 5 Z's were delivered with them, they were just taped to the trunk deck and many a porter binned them while getting the car PDI ready. Most folks that bought these aren't aware they existed, no big now but in 20 years..

Well aware of Gen I Camaro's with build sheets as NOR cars are just about zero but yes there are some LOS built cars that have been documented with build sheets. We have the build sheet (card) that was in one of our 69 Nova's back seat bottom but interesting enough it had another build sheet from another car there as well. The sequence # indicated it had been build two cars before. What is nice with the newer Corvette's is you can order a build sheet or window sticker if you did not have from the corvette museum.

That's really common, I had an LS6 Chevelle with two of it's own sheets and one from a small block car that was two digits off mine.
Anyone know if the line was shut down just for the Z's, or were they blended in with regular F bod production.

My build sheet came with the car.
It was with all my paperwork from the Salesman, so not sure what area of the car he got it out of.

Looks like an old school printout sheet with holes down both sides from the printer.

Build date: 11/27/14
Time: 08:26:36

I'm assuming this is the time it rolled onto the line not off??

I have signed sheets!! But mines not a Z! I would have thought that all of the Z28's should have been signed!! Kind of a bummer they weren't!
