Get a 2SS and buy oil stocks so when the price of oil goes up you make money

After a V6, and a SC V8, get as much car as you can. A camaro is not a fiscally responsible car. If it's a matter of a couple grand, just go for the big guy. If you want further reason, take a gander at resales on 2014 - 2015 V6 vs V8, the vast majority of these cars will be the smaller engines, 5+ years down the road there will always be a much bigger demand for the 2SS.

Don't get me wrong, the V6 is a fantastic car, but once you see, hear, or drive a V8, you will second guess your decision.

V8 or bust. The noise and torque are worth more than any additional creature comforts or amenities.

Thats an interesting point. So does this mean if one wants to sell the car in near future V6 is better and for sale after few years V8 is more promising?

Consider this: You might be on the fence about buying a V6 or springing for the V8 in your new car. If, instead, you decided it might be better to get used, you'd definitely want a V8, right? In this case, the used V8 is more desirable than the used V6.

@ $39,330 for a 2LT is a tad steep ......... for a few grand more you can have a 2SS for around $42,xxx-$44,xxx ........ I would do the 2SS .....

The difference in insurance from a V-6 to a V-8(for me) when I bought my '13 2LT would have been a $66/year increase if I went for the SS/V-8 ...... this time I am considering the '16 1SS .......

Yeah going from a 2014 2LT to a 2016 SS is only $60 more for me. But that's for six months not 12.

+1

I loved my 2LT 13' V6 but in the end you'll regret not getting the V8. It's only a few grand more and you'll end up spending more in mods to keep up the with V8 crowd anyways if your already on theses forums.

2SS it is!

I do have to add my responsibility tangent I suppose. I don't know your finances, all of us comes from vastly different lifestyles with different goals and priorities. Car advice? Absolutely listen to these guys, we are all passionate and know more than 99.9% of the salespeople you will ever meet. Only you know your personal position right now, don't let a bunch of random people talk you into spreading yourself too thin. It will more than likely cost you about $150 more a month between payments, gas, insurance to own a V8. For some of us, that's an inconsequential dollar amount, for others that could mean the difference of losing everything if life happens.

By all means, it's a car not an investment. Get what you will enjoy, but don't put your personal future in jeopardy all because some guys on a forum told you to, I can see a really funny look coming from a bankruptcy trustee.

Let us know what you decide, and more importantly love what you decide.

If performance is not the end all factor, why not get a v6? It's still going to be significantly faster than the 5th gen v6. Probably right in between the v6 and l99 SS.

I can't remember the last time I even had a good race in my supercharged G8 GT. lots if faster cars, but it's not like I ever ran into them in the street.
