Would the CTF cars be considered "more rare" ?

Looking for everyone's opinion to see if the CTF captured test fleet cars would be considered more rare because a different VIN and only 69 produced ?

Was pondering the same thing. It looks like GM cut the fleet loose and there's a bunch out there right now. I found a silver one with 1000 miles on it. I thought long and hard about swapping the '15 out for it.

I'm sticking with what I have. No window sticker and CoA with CTF cars and I was not the original owner. I would also be giving up a lot of warranty too. Who knows how those 1000 miles got on there, well beaten maybe?

However, if I was shopping right now I would be all over it.

To answer your question... There is a good chance they might be worth more but not much, maybe add 5%. With less than 1800 total cars there all pretty 'rare'. One of our other vehicles is a similar story. 78-79 Little Red Express trucks were 2 years only, 78 a lot less produced than 79. There's no measurable difference in value today.

It sounds like you are asking, if I buy this car will it sell at Mecum for $100,000? No way to tell except try to find another muscle car with similar production numbers and see what they are going for. Personally I don't look at a vehicle as an investment, cost, insurance, storage and it might not go up.

Yea, since GM released the fleet to auction and they're now showing up for sale, just got me thinking. regardless of "rare" these are bad ass cars !

Ok, just check the 800 cars GM built before swapping the VIN digit for the 2010s. Neat but not sure you can find any add value. Check Corvettes too. All CTFs are considered saleable but they may not be. For example VIN #3, my 2010 CTF became a test car for a future program.

CTF# 020 and I did not receive the window sticker, I did receive a CoA.

Vin #0001, 0002, 0003, yes, CTF, probably not. I'm not giving up my 7 year bumper to bumper warranty and being the first owner. This is all just opinion though, interested to hear what others think.
'giving up my 7 year bumper to bumper".. I have the 7 year warranty when I purchased my CTF..

800 Is a much larger number than 69.. Not saying they are worth more than production Z's but that comparison isn't very comparable.

Mine is 1 of 3 in Canada. It is hard to say how many of the 69 have been released and sold to the public, surely not all 69 of them. Id like to think it is/will be worth more, but I didn't buy it for the re-sale. It was the colour that I wanted and the only one in Canada I could find. Time will tell on the value, but in the mean time, Im going to enjoy this beautiful car.

I thought GM would destroy all CTF cars as they are test cars fearing litigation ?

I purchased it from Royal Chevrolet in Orangeville, Ontario as a New vehicle. At the time they also had one of the other canadian CTF's (black #018). They only had each car posted for less than 2 weeks before they were purchased.

..to add as well, the car had new brakes (rotors and pads) and tires put on before sale to the dealership before I purchased it.
