Finally got the Katech oil pump. Is it worth $500 bucks, who knows. One thing to note is the little clip that holds the wiring doesn't fully go into the katech pump. The hole is there but its not deep enough so I cut it off. Doubt its going to be an issue but I was surprised I couldn't get it in there. It bent to shit when trying to push it in. I forgot about it until after the pump was already installed. If I would tried while the pump was on the bench, I might have been able to get it.

RabbitZL1 reached out to me on FB and pushed me to update my oil return system video. I ended up pressing out that little down tube inside the oil pan. Not sure it'll help but it sure wont hurt.

Here ya go RabbitZL1 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/BOOSTEC-M22...-/111800695888

I cleaned up my brake booster vac hoses. They were kinda rigged up in the fender area before. The oem diagram shows intake to T fitting. One side goes to booster and other side goes to vac motor next to the bumper. Each section has a check valve. I put a check valve in the hose from the manifold to the T then tucked the hose up behind/above the booster. One short section coming down into the booster and the section goes inside the fender up and around the top over to the vac motor in the front. I figure as long as the Boost stays out of the system, it'll work fine.

Motor is back in the car. I'm leaving it pretty bare until I get all the misc crap figured out. Its very tight once the turbo kit starts going in.

I'm also purchasing a lot of products from motion raceworks. They seem like a great USA product, Doug is always posting great info, they are out racing all the time with their 5th gen motor in a nova. Their products are great. If they have something I want, like the vac block, Ill spend the 70 with them instead of the 35 on amazon.

Take your pictures with the phone in landscape(horizontal) instead of portrait(vertical).

Part of my goal this project was to get a tighter grip on boost control. The hallman mbc I had last year increased boost nicely but like most setups it would tapper off in the top end.

I found this ebc. Has a nice simple design, multiple maps, two inputs for Scramble and WB lean cut. It can also display boost or AFR.

https://gfb.com.au/products/boost-co...roller-detail/

I plan on 3 maps.
#1 spring psi ~10 psi for the kids and woman.
#2 ~15psi for launching on the street. with scramble to add a couple psi once i get rolling.
#3 ~18psi Track

I'll also set the max boost cut to make sure it doesn't over boost. Set the lean cut to something like 13 afr.

What I am really interested in seeing is if it can help hold max psi across the rpm band. My last combo would drop 3 psi on the top end. 3 psi is ~70 wheel.

Speed based boost is what I use along with dome control. I can run from 5psi to as high as I want all on one spring. The boost is as flat as could be with improved initial response. Here is a chart of boost from a simple 3 port noid to dome control. Last time I was as at the track I wanted to leave harder but was concerned with high boost the entire run(stock 5.3) so I programmed in ~19psi at the launch and ~16psi for most of the run.

Got my additional ground strap. 34 inch. 1/0 gauge. 8mm ends. Hopefully this helps with the weak cranking issue a lot of people have commented on.

Also a new meth pump from Alky control. Figure I'll run the new one for the 2021 season then ship both pumps to Julio for rebuild in the winter for the following 2 years. The shipping alone makes it hard not to buy a whole new pump.

The ground strap was a bit long but I made it work. Also there are many spots to ground the frame and engine. I also had to move the Orig ground strap that I’m guessing went to the motor mount. I ground the paint off the bmr plate and tightened it with the one motor mount bolt.

Grabbed some random pics today. Bmr motor mounts. Turbo drain fitting and location. Harness tuck and wrap. New motion race works catch can.

One little clip left over? That isn’t bad.
