By this I'm talking about things like the black Chevy badges being an up priced option when it doesn't cost any more whatsoever to have one color compared to another. Charging extra for something like that says "yes, I really do think you're stupid and don't know that having both badges would add nothing to the cost of the car" like we're stupid. Because you really can never take too much money from someone...
Actually, providing the badge in two colors WOULD cost GM money

1. It would cost them on an economy-of-scale base, where they are now ordering less gold badges, and so the per-unit-cost of the gold badges go up
2. It would add an additional step to the manufacturing process, which costs money (same reason that the adrenaline red / ceramic white interiors cost extra)
3. You still get to keep the gold badges (its an LPO, so you get the original hardware) so youre buying the gold one AND ALSO the black one

theyre not just taking your money

everything on this thread is a genuine GM OEM accessory....

1st item under "exterior"

http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro-spor...cessories.html

but without a v6 trunklid or body work, it currently does not fit a v8 model.

Look down at post #11. He clearly said that the dealer ordered an LT decklid so he could use the LPO blade spoiler. It's OEM.

Nah, parts of this type at their volume is going to have actual costs measured in cents. Their cost for any practical purpose is nothing and they charge 145 dollars which is what is commonly referred to as a money grab. They ARE just taking your money. It should simply be an option to get the black or not. This is my opinion and its not going to change, I expect people to make money and as a self employed person have no problem with it. I get they are running a business but that is just plain whacked.

Looks great Sdcoke.

Maybe if someone wanted it a little more aggressive someone like ZL1 addons can make a tinted wicker-bill like the 5th gen one or the current Z06 Corvette:

I think that would look pretty good.
