1LE V6 What suspension do I actually have?
Search function doesn't work for me so here goes.
I know it is supposed to have the Fe3 suspension now. So does this mean I'm basically upgrading a SS model suspension when I buy parts. Just trying to get a base point to know what parts I need to be looking at. Or sell and buy a V8 1le. However I didn't want magnetic ride. Any help will be appreciated. |

Why do you want to change it? Have you tracked it stock? 6th gen ss 1le all have mag ride.

Is damper tuning a little different, or are part #s for shocks and struts the same for the V6 1LE as the base SS?

Thank you for all the responses.
I have not had it on the track yet. However, I have had it in some spirited driving. Hwy 125, 248, and 160 in southern Missouri. Great roads by the way it does well. But could be a lot better in my opinion. Also I drive 800 + miles one way to work in west Texas. At higher speeds it does begin to feel soft, wash out like spring dampening is too soft. I will check out the thread on magnetic ride. I remember about 20 years ago hearing about it on the new Cadillac. Thanks again for responding. |

So after checking out the suspension thread.
My car has the fe2 front stabilizer with fe3 end links, different front cool springs. Probably a lower spring rate die to engine weight. Rear springs same as SS fe3. That's as far as I've gotten so far. |

Check the end links on your front sway bar. If they're metal (very likely), you have a FE3 bar. If they're plastic, the bar is FE2.

Why do you not want magnetic ride?
Two points: 1. Replacement mag ride shocks are not as much as you think. 2. Computer controlled damping that has calibrations for all sorts of situations. |

retrofitting Magride to a non- car is no trivial or inexpensive undertaking.

I did the research once upon a time for when it's time to replace my suspension, and I believe the front spring is the same as on the fe2
