After a long wait, I'm finally a Camaro owner!
After 26 years of waiting for my kids to grow up, helping them through school, planning weddings and 3 grandkids later, I'm finally a Camaro owner. I have wanted this car since I was just a kid myself.
After almost 5 months of waiting for allocation, getting a bit discouraged, I pulled the trigger on a Sharkskin Gray LT1 RS last Tuesday. Initially I was only considering the 1SS, but once I saw the LT1 in person, all the doubts about the base model looks, went away. I got a really good deal when you take into account the higher interest rates and over MSRP prices. I'm happy with my decision. ..until yesterday! One of the 3 dealerships I had been working with to obtain allocation called and told me they had allocation! I was devastated! If I had only waited 1 more week. Luckily with age comes a bit of wisdom. As they say, there's no reason crying over spilt milk. My goal was to get a V8 Camaro and I got that. It's a beautiful car, that many people would love to have. We're all lucky to be in a position to buy things like this, when so many people are struggling day to day. I've already have bought a new gas cap, LED sidemarkers, Smoked rear reflectors and a build plaque. I'm sure there will be more to come. Just waiting for spring to tint the windows, and get PPF installed. I will probably start deciding if I will lower her a bit or get new wheels. Until then she's currently in the garage, waiting for NE Ohio weather to cooperate. My NOCO Genius 10 maintainer should be here tomorrow afternoon so I can keep her charged up and ready to go. Trying to figure out what's the best way to link my photos from IMGUR. Didn't realize it would be such a pain. LOL.

Congratulations eCkO , nice job raising the family , I did the same . But didn't pay for any weddings , they were on there own by marriage time. Tho we did get them both very good wedding gifts. As you said the early years were lean (Regan era) nothing has changed just the year. Enjoy your car

Congrats!
On the plaque, is the "X" in the state abbreviation a dig at them since you're in Ohio?

Congrats! She's a beaut. And I see a nice, spacious garage & toolbox to wrench on her.
This is probably something simple that's going right over my head, but why is the M in Michigan X'd out on the fuse box plaque?

Beautiful car, congratulations Don't worry a single second about not getting a 1SS, the LT1 looks pretty good, especially since you added the RS package, and you have the same V8 throbbing under the hood.

Yes, congratulations! Money well spent and you eloquently described the good fortune we all (us Camaro owners) enjoy in being able to acquire them.
But now the important questions- when you gonna figure out how to post some pics AND more importantly, where did you find the new fuel door cover? I want to change mine and I can't find'em anywhere!! Thanks. Oh, I just found some BIG pics and I still want your fuel door! OK, now I can see'um and that is a gorgeous car! well done. And your garage is really clean too...! |
