In search of a 1LE
Hello everyone. Has anyone noticed how challenging it is to buy car these days? First off, I live in Buffalo, NY. The vast majority of these cars, or cars like it, well, aren't here. So this requires some assistance from the dealer in identifying any issues before you get there.
I first started looking at C6 GS/Z. I contacted individuals about these, asked some questions and for some more detailed answers. The number one response? Can't you just drive down and look at it? Then those individuals post that no one is interested in your car. Hello! I tried buying it! Oh well. So then I move on to a 17 or 18 1LE, which at the end of the day is probably a better way to go over the C6. I've talked to three dealers now. First one, black, swore I would never own another black car, and I want a little more contrast with the matte panels. This dealer came down to $26,000, however, Carsucks (Carfax) showed rear end damage, though no accident. First red flag. Then I get the service records and the previous owner had the dealership swap decklids with a regular SS. He then proceeded to put on Hot Wheels emblems along with curbing a wheel. All minor things right? For some reason I just can't get over the color or the Carfax. If someone is interested, let me know and I will point you in the right direction. Had 30k miles on it. Round two. Found a silver one, hey, it's better than black. I reach out to the dealer, and what it the response I get back? Crickets outside of the automated e-mail. I finally get in touch with them and they won't budge on price, want me to pay $700 for a Resistall package, and guess what... still considering it. It's in good shape, 18k miles and they want $29.5. We shall see. Again, will point someone in the right direction. Round three. Find a blue one... hmmm, not bad. Reach out, explain to the internet sales manager that I'd like him to walk around the car and identify any damage and let me know how the tires are. Two days go by with no response. I reach back out and he sends me an e-mail with the listing photos. Seriously? This one had 18k miles on it as well for $31k prior to any negotiation. I believe this will be my 40th car, yes, 4.0. I swear it gets harder to buy a car each time. If anyone can point me in the right direction for either a silver, green (may have lost my mind here), blue or white 1LE preferably with PDR, please let me know. I figure PDR is one of those things that would be nice to have and it would suck if I decided I wanted it later down the road. Thanks everyone. I hope to start contributing about an actual car sooner than later. Jason |

Have to say, that looks pretty good, but need to stick with the 6. Not sure I can do the interior on the 5.

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Here's a green SS 1LE with PDR in Canada for CDN$43000 (USD$32600). It's only two hours drive from you too.

For comparisons sake. I just paid $36k out the door (tax, tag, title, dealer fees, etc.) for a HBM 18 1SS 1LE (19k on the clock) bone stock. With brand new tires, PDR, and one owner florida title. Florida, specifically Orlando is loaded with Camaros.
