Fuel line I think, why over engine cover

So why did GM run a line, I think fuel line over the engine covers toward the rear?

My friend has a C7 and it does not have a line over the engine cover?

Could I put a C7 line in it's place, and use a C7 engine cover without the notches for the line?

I want to get different engine covers, painted different, for my camaro, but that damn line runs over the covers. If I could move it or get a different one it would be much cleaner looking.

Just follow these steps and it’s done. Hidden and out of sight.

Not sure why GM did it that way. Maybe away from heat? Probably an already part made and they decided to use that part and not modify it to fit better. Cost?

Can’t keep everyone happy. Guess it depends what you like or how you like to mode things. Stock is fine, but really GM a fuel line across the top of the cover.

Myself I have not done this relocation of the fuel line. I was just trying to help out or give OP options. I have an extra engine cover and just grabbed the plugs out of the garage and got the rattle can out. It’s called what else do you do with the virus quarantine with so much time on my hands. I can only wax the car so much.

I'd personally be a little worried about introducing some fueling error by messing with the feed line. I'm not sure how sensitive the system is to that type of change (maybe it's negligible), but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it without some data to support that there's not change.

My 2016 SS ran E85 for 3 years with the fuel line placed behind the high Ram with no problems. Sorry no data just a lot thrills.

Nice! I assume you were tuned for that setup though.

Good video.
I'd doubt any code would be set by just rerouting the line.

Now the plugs look like a good idea in the cover, but does anyone know what a cover for a corvette would be?

Has anyone used an overlay for their engine cover. I guess it just sets on top of existing engine cover???

Agree, unless you introduce some kind of restriction or a number of crazy bends.

Good idea. Still not exactly cheap but but no holes.

The fuel line is running on the top because in a frontal crash the engine would be shoved down instead of backwards, into the cabin. So it's an unattractive safety measure since they decided to route the fuel line down the passenger side, presumably because of the three engine choices.

Where does the fuel line run on a LT1 in a C7 vette?
