I was one of the testers for this back in March before it was published. I still have no rattle so it's holding rather well so far

Do we have to provide our own Q-tips? I will bring my Q-tips and a copy of the TSB to my dealer.

I know what you mean. Pretty bad when you have to literally give the TSB number to the dealer. They are supposed to be the experts!

Well, the epoxy fix might not be holding. I noticed some intermittent rattling yesterday. Still getting the burned plastic smell, too.

They probably put the epoxy on correctly.

My rattle is starting to return intermittently.

Cleaning the surfaces well is absolutely a must before applying epoxy to any material. Allowing the proper cure time is also critical.

Those complaining about epoxy as not being a "professional" fix...might not want to dig into how much of the car is held together by adhesives...

Good news is: warranty is there for a reason, including on all parts and labor as part of a repair, and there finally appears to be a resolution for the group of people experiencing rattle.

unfortunately its not as easy to clean as i hoped. you need a really short bristled brush because it is tight in there, but the lip on the valve makes it tougher. the brush also needs a long handle. the brake clean doesn't penetrate all the way down to the metal, you really need to get in there and scrub it.

I agree that the only way this stuff will have a chance is if it is absolutely spotless

If I were a dealer performing this fix...I'd get a firearm cleaning brush set. Brass or stainless steel bristles...

I am glad my favorite exhaust mode is "fuse pull" mode. On the A8 you don't get any drone on the highway anyway. The run-flat tire noise is the louder than anything else...

The tire noise is ridiculous. But these tires sure do grip.

Agreed the tire performs well and is probably a great run flat. I just get this howl/roar out of them when cruising. When it comes time to replace I am not sure if I want some quiet Michelin PSS or back to the run flat for piece of mind.

Sounds like a long Dremel extension is what they need.

Unfortunately, I did not get to personally watch the procedure so I have no idea if they did it thoroughly.

If I would have thought of that, I would have brought my rifle cleaning kit to help them out.
