Break bedding procedure
Hey can anyone remember what part of the 1LE manual or performance supplemental manual the break bedding procedure is in? I cannot find it anywhere. I know I saw it ... somewhere.

meh, just brake progressively harder and harder with a little time for them to cool off in between..you should be smelling them during the last few of the hardest stops. That should be fine. The idea is to get as much pad material on the rotor without 'shocking' them, if that makes sense.

lol I tried bedding them per the procedure (which is insanely long IMO) but frankly just couldn't get enough heat into the suckers on the street. First track day I'm pretty sure they were bedded after the first session.

Have done at track (COTA and RA) on 2 separate ZLE's. You will definitely smell them. Likely get soft pedal feel during laps 3-5 so be prepared. I usually back off a lap and they progressively firm up.

Just make sure you keep your foot off the brake after bedding until they cool down!

I personally think that the bedding procedure that GM publishes is excessive. Less than 1/3rd of that is necessary.

Buy pads from Carbotech and they bed them for an extra $20. Install and ready to drive.
