I agree with him, careful throttle application would have transferred some weight back onto the rear tires, which could have stopped the spin.

I took "Yes you are. " - clearly as a comment made in lighthearted spirit - to mean that you thought I might be relying on traction control. Sorry if that's not what you meant.

The bottom line for me is that car has managed to make me uneasy about every car's electronic TC. Too many decades of driving cars without TC, I guess.

PTM is a little different to standard traction control more suited to dialing in a specific amount of restriction. I think its more like the sophisticated systems in modern super sports cars like the AMG GT-R

old video but this explains how the first gen PTM systems worked.

What is that car passing the lotus at 1:35 before he has his off? It looks like a serious endurance prototype like a imsl lmp2 car?

Totally lighthearted , but definitely wasn't poking at your Mustang. I was referring to some of the interesting observations from the video associated with TC light coming on.

I think they are close to 50/50 split now on open cockpit vs closed. Lately I've seen seeing more closed cockpit ones.

Agree. PTM is on a completey different level and very much mimics a race system. Also, it is incredibly linear and not intrusive at all even in Sport1 with Stabilitrak on. It takes a higher level of ability to sense the car to know it is there. It is also capable of very fast laptimes. I prefer Race as it is leaves yaw angle management up to a driver, but i do use Sport1 when i have non coach passengers in. Cheers!

I understand the concept.

It's just that the situation I'm coming from has a TC=on condition that's exactly like its TC=off condition (except for the status of the TC OFF light).
