All Season 1LE Tires: 35 aspect ratio?

Hey guys. Approaching 7k miles on my 1LE and the Goodyears are just about toast. I'm looking for a more wear-friendly set of tires that are also not $1,400+ for a non-rotatable set. I don't really want to get new wheels either because I LOVE the 1LE wheels.

That said, the BFG Comp 2 A/S which seem to be highly recommended on here(after tons of searching) comes in 285/35/20 and 305/35/20. Is it possible to run a 35 aspect ratio tire on the 1LE wheels without issue? If not, what would need to be done to make this work?

I'm open to any other suggestions as well. Thanks!

Yes, but there is some wiring in the driver side rear under the liner that needs to be relocated.

How involved would this relocation be? Is this something I could ask a competent tire shop to do?

I wouldn’t ask a tire shop to do anything other than tires lol. Why not try to give it a crack yourself? Very simple.

It's not every 305/35 series that needs the wiring mod but you can assume it would, I think the BFG Comp2 A/S is one that clears.
I run that tire in 275/35 and a 285/35 setup for winter months.

If you are worried about the 35 aspect, Bridgestone sells its RE980AS in 30 aspect:

I run the 1LE tire set up on my 2016 SS and there is no issue with needing to relocate the harness, and I thought I read where GM actually relocated it in 2017 model year. That said, if you go with a 35 aspect in a 2016 you need to make the adjustment. I've heard the relocate is pretty simple.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm going to need to look into this relocation if I go the route of 35 aspect ratio tires. My 1LE is an '18 so it sounds like this will apply to me but it also seems that some people haven't needed to so I guess we'll cross that bridge if it comes. I'm open to any other ideas as well!

The price is certainly right on these tires is something I'm going to look into. Will the 1LE 10" wheel support a 295 front tire? Without rubbing?

Does anyone have some thoughts on the RE980AS?

I have them with OEM sizes, love them. Drove with them in the rain, minor snow & of course in dry weather and they felt/feel great.

Edit. Not OEM sizes, forgot the fronts are 295. No issues though

FYI I have a 2018 2SS and the harness is in the exact same ("old") position.

Got cha on “2018 2SS no relocate.” You know how you hear things. I also have the 1LE suspension on my with the GM Performance Lowering Kit and have zero issues.

I had fender liner rub with that size.. nothing major but annoying so i took them off. I did like the quiet ride of the comp 2 though...

I have them as well. VERY happy with them. They don't make a 285 right now but the 295/30/20 fits on the front without any rubbing. Tire barely sticks out from the fenders in the front. I will buy them again if Continental still doesn't have a DWS in the stock sizes when it's time. I reached out to Continental directly and they told me 3-4 years back in 2018.
