Question on 1LE Brakes post track event
Understand this is hard without seeing the car...
But, had a good day Friday @ Sebring ran my best of 2:35. Background, new OEM brake pads & second change of DOT 4 Motil prior with Motive bleeder, no issues. Note, I probably did not do a good job to Bed the brakes in, just hard in our area to find vacant road & perform the repeated stops GM asks for. Problem, appears fluid was "weeping" from Bleeder, but it was dry and "white" once I parked. Note, I always do a cool down lap and when off track a lap of the parking area to ensure car is cool. Master Cyl appears to be weeping too out of top (I did not over fill it). So, my thought is I did not get all the old Dot 4 out (12 months old) and the car sits in garage in Florida, so collecting mosture? Or I created a lot of heat, with poor job on bedding brakes. Also, I have never cycled the ABS with tool or bleed clutch... Now the Master cyl appears a tad low....after sitting overnight.. Thoughts? Thx Tim |

Think I figured it out, green tires, Sport 1, ST overworked the brakes... at least my guess. I usually do Sport 2, but it was a bit slick out there at first...

Thoughts...
Every car i've tracked has leaked brake fluid from the bleeder screw. Just enough to ruin the finish and bake the fluid into the caliper powdercoat. Oh, and dont' expect your calipers to stay red. Brembo = BrownBo
