All Camaro's were N/A out of the gate. If you can supercharge one model you can supercharge the next model. Who says the Z/28 cannot be other than N/A?
Why would a car manufacturer remove an option which would potentially sell a car? Isn't the goal of a car manufactuer to sell as many cars as they can?
Simple business....

Al O says and I think he’s in more of a position than anyone else to say what the Camaro will or won’t be.

Yep and that is precisely why the 5th Gen ZL1 was called ZL1. It was supposed to be Z/28 but they felt it wasn't right

Actually, the 2012 Boss Mustang is what prompted the change.

Here's our new Z28 - What? Stripped down mustang track car?

Here's our new ZL1.

Now go make the same in Camaro form to hit BOSS head on -

Here's our really new Z28.

I have the "same" setup, just no Mast heads. They were getting ready to do Smokin15's car when I picked mine up (previous owner, it had Ohio plates then). This is a very nice build and the car is very reliable. Almost 4k miles on my car, I did my build at 250 miles. You wouldn't regret it.

NA is dead. Please let it go. Those days are gone and over with. Chevy is in the business of building affordable record setting cars now, while still having to contend with the EPA and CARB regulations.

The LT5 ZR1 just shattered the VIR record. 750 horses was most of the reason why.

Yep, just like the LS9 came to the 5th gen ZL1 when the 662 hp GT500 came out.

ouch. too soon lol

But seriously, GM can't keep playing the "Good Enough" game. It'd be nice if the Tripe Threat ZL1 was really a threat.
Hopefully the Corvette going mid engine and such will clear up a bit of ZR1 you-can't-have-that-engine syndrome in the future

I have a feeling the LT5 might be the send of for the C7 and be "exclusive"

I think it all depends on what they do with the 2019 refresh. If the SS gets an updated LT1 with dual injection (like I personally think will happen) I think we may see the LT5 come to the ZL1 regardless of the #s of the new GT500.

I wouldn't really think of this like the C6 ZR1 and 5th Gen ZL1, I think Chevy basically never even considered putting the LS9 in the ZL1 back then so they developed the LSA with it. This time around we have seen how they are really pushing the boundaries so I don't see the LT5 completely out of reach of the ZL1, I don't think it's extremely likely but definitely possible.

And for all of you N/A haters, just wait the Z/28 will absolutely be N/A if it does arrive this gen!!!!!!!!!
