deleted post.
Do they need some road miles and or street burn outs to remove any mold release agents or anything else to promote a non slick surface on the tire? Any thoughts or comments are welcome.

I used the NT05 on another car as my 'cheap' track tire.
Decent tire, middle of the road grip (in relation to other 200TW tires) and have decent wear characteristics. You'll certainly get more grip out of them than the OE tire. Nothing special to get them ready. You can usually find them fairly cheap from Discount Tire Direct on eBay.

Well, if 1/4 mile is your goal, there is the NT05R...it's a hybrid street/drag radial.

yes I know about them. Problem is they are about $350 per tire and very limited in 20 inch sizes. For the few times I go to the track just to get a decent ET, I should achieve my goal.
