2012 Drag Car Build help
I am looking to shed as much weight as possible on my 2012 camaro drag build.. Please let me know of any kits I could buy, things I can do. Thanks

other than seats and crash bars...what et you plannin on runnin since the cage has to be different and then certified...one item I will address is brake rotor weight...stocks are massive and heavy, 2-piece designs with the alum rotor hat should weight less and any un-sprung weight dropped is a good thing....good luck op..

Headers/full exhaust shaves off quite a bit alone. Switch out to lighter wheels and smaller/lighter brakes. They make a smaller battery that drops like 20-25lbs. Carbon fiber driveshaft. Pull seats. It'll start adding up to a decent amount of weight dropped

Heck, the easiest route is to take advantage of all the engineering that's already been done.
http://www.jegs.com/p/Chevrolet-Perf...12846/10002/-1 Strip it, cage it, 9" rear axle, your favorite LS motor & turbo 400.... and the thousands of other details in that book. The key pieces like the kit to mount a 9" rear axle, drivetrain mounts, lightweight hood...all have GM part numbers. |
