2SS Convertible Spoiler

I was thinking of getting the rear spoiler for my 2SS convertible painted black. When I went to my body shop to get an estimate the guy at the shop removed the rubber covers that are on the inside of the trunk lid that I though were hiding bolts for the spoiler. What we found were electronic connections of some sort. The guy from the body shop determined that Chevy is using the rear spoiler as an antenna. Does anyone know if this is the case? I would advise anyone who may be looking to replace the stock spoiler with an aftermarket spoiler look in to this first before buying a new spoiler.

Yes, GM has put the antenna in the convertible spoilers since Gen 5. Thats what it is.

That's the reason a blade spoiler won't fit a 'vert.
