You may not need to disconnect the steering shaft..on mine, the header slid right in without unhooking the shaft.....also look in the DIY section for header install

Yeah mine slid right in place as well. If you don't have to touch it let it be.

I was able to slide the driver's side shorties in from above. The passenger side had to be done from below, and that too was done without issue.

Keep trying different angles...

For my ARH long tubes, we did disconnect the steering shaft to install from below.

Not to be a dick, but did you mark the shaft along the bolt?

You need to mark both sides of the shaft lengthwise so you can put it back the way it was and your steering wheel will be centered when you put it back together.

I disconnected mine according to the instructions too. Might have been able to do it without that, but I was working alone and did not want to have to wrestle the header.

I installed 2" headers and had to remove mine....but if my car was like 6" higher I wouldn't have to....BUT if you do remove it make sure the steering wheel isn't locked or else it will be a bitch to take off...otherwise it should slide right up

I installed mine Thursday night after work..got off work at 5, had them done with car running and off my lift by 6. These are by far the easiest headers I've ever put on in my mechanical career so far. You don't need to undo the shaft man, they practical fall in and out. You'll love the outcome man

Driver side done I took out the bolt but did not remove anything. I did have to raise it up quite a bit buy also am doing it by myself. IF I had a helper I would probably have gone all of it already but it does seem pretty easy
