Next Gen NASCAR Camaro

For the first time since really the early 1990s, the NASCAR race car will look more similar to it's production stock car than a standardized race car body design. Here's the Next Gen Camaro that will begin use for next season:

All Next Gen cars will also feature new single, center lug wheels, larger brake calipers, and for the first time a fully independent front and rear suspension with an integrated rear gearbox (like the 5th-7th gen Corvettes)

it doesn't mean that. the roof life line is a lot better on that. overall it looks a lot cooler and more like a Camaro than just the front end like the past.

As a NASCAR fan, I'm looking forward to seeing how these Next-Gen, 7th gen cars perform. I've always liked NASCAR because it's an 'old-school' type of racing (V8, 4-speed H-pattern trans, solid rear axle, 15" wheels, etc.). This Next-Gen car introduces a sequential trans, independent rear axles, and 18" wheels. It's the perfect combination of modern tech and NASCAR staying with its original roots.

Agreed. Thing about NASCAR is, while lots of people chastise the outdated “old schoolness” of it, it did evolve out of standard production cars with everyday people who didn’t have engineering degrees. Most of the founding racers in ‘48 probably didn’t even measure or cut parts with a ruler - they chopped, cut, and shaved parts with any tool in their garage until it fit and worked. They’re more relatable to the common American.

F1 and most other motor sports circuits started with dedicated race cars, and the manufacturers brought the racing technology to their production cars.

Plus there’s few circuits that allow contact and drafting.

Danica Patrick was a successful Indy racer but couldn’t win crap in NASCAR. Half the time she finished in the back 20, if she finished the race at all.
