AFM ACCUTATORS

Was under the car and noticed the afm actuators were zip tied under the car. The car has been fully tuned. Can I remove these or do they need to stay plugged in. I would think they should have been programmed out during tuning.

Don't like having them under the car, just a problem waiting to happen.

thanks

You need to go through BOTH the ECM and FSCM tuning to make sure everything related is set to “No Error Reported” before removing those.

^ That

It includes the FSCM as well, as noted. Not sure how to know without checking the tune files, or unplugging them and seeing if you get a CEL. if I had to guess, they might not have tuned them out of the FSCM (an extra hpt credit) otherwise why leave them there and connected?

Yep, and you cannot read the FSCM! It’s like the TCM in that regard. You’ll have to go through the stock tune and make sure it’s all set, then flash it in.

Won’t be an extra credit in a 2016 car if I’m not mistaken.

FSCM requires 1 credit to license. CCM's are 2-3 credits depending on year. 2016 SS cars are by far the cheapest to license...3 credits for everything.
