BEST EXPANSION TANK

Hey guys, i see ALOT of options for underhood expansion tanks in size, location, material, etc... I was curious which you all think is the most effective?

at 2 gallons... and in the fender.... this one seems like a great option?

This is going to be added to my phase.2 build of cam + ported blower + lower pulley + 103tb + big Gulp
Also, has anyone considered re-purposing the windshield washer fluid tank for this?

I suggest a trunk tank. Higher capacity and typically easier to fill/drain if you want to ice the car down. Keeping what you want to be cool water away from the engine is also good.

Makes sense... I's like to stick with a smaller one under the hood (less weight) and I dont plan to crank the boost that high... anyone have the fender mount version with install photos?

Cordes has about a 2-gallon, underhood tank that goes below the hood latch that seems to be a good option.

I saw that one also... but it looks like you need to cut a large whole to access the lid... which i didnt like... :(

I have the dedicated motorsports fender tank. Nice tank, fits right behind the fender, connected to my IC. Just need to drill one of the holes, i can't remember which one, but install is a piece of cake.

What is the capacity of the adm tank? From what I've read it's not much and doesn't help much at all..

What is your take and do you have data?

No data right now, its the larger tank but I got it mostly to deal with any air in the system. Not so much extra capacity because its not even a gallon. Does what i need it to do, Just throwing another option out there

It’s really to make filling easier. Holds maybe half a quart at most.

I use it and haven't noticed any heat soak or power loss while going around a road course in 90+ temp days with humidity in South Carolina.

Though I'm stock but still running at WOT around a road course for 20 minutes takes a toll on any vehicle.

This is useful in keeping the air bubbles out of the lines.
