Opinion on original tire patch fix

Looking at the two pictures attached here, is this tire repair a Yay or Nay for you guys? It's for the SS original Goodyear tires, car is 6000 miles old. I understand that this is the shoulder part, but relatively close to the crown. Thanks!

That looks too close to the outside for me. . I'd pass on repairs on that one. FWIW - I did a patch/plug combo on a GY run flat that had a small nail puncture in the center of the tire. The repair worked fine until I replaced the rear tires 3000 miles later.

Any type of tire/wheel coverage on the 2SS? I had coverage with mine and they replaced a flat with a fresh tire.

Take it to a good year tire shop and get their opinion.

Thanks for the replies guys! Not sure about the warranty but Firestone said it's too close and a local tire shop said it's okay. Tomorrow I will check with a Goodyear representative.

I think that that would be fine to patch (not plug) though it's awfully close to the zone of not being advisable to patch it. I'd think perfectly fine to patch it either way as logn as you're not intending to track/race it.
