2014 Camaro v6 3.91 gears vs 2012 mustang performance package
What do you guys think? A camaro 1ls with 3.91 gears or a mustang v6 with performance package? Who would win 0-60? 1/4 mile? For arguments sake let's just say they are stock except for the gears.

Damn. Really? I'm not racing this is purely hypothetical. I guess weight just plays that big of a difference I'd at least figure it'd be a drivers race.

Wow those PP cars are pretty stout. Anyone have any run ins with them? Anyone know anybody who owns one?

Well I'm really not too concerned about 1/4 miles and stuff I'm doing a road course/autox build. Just curious, I know the 3.91 won't help as much at the strip as out on the course

Yeah the v6 mustang is just too much for the v6 camaro. i ran one , a friend of a friends on a private road.. honestly he didn't leave me off the line, but as the mph climbed he started to pull (annoying bc i had work put into my car, all except the headers and black ice.) not sure if that would make a difference. my best pass was 14.161.. i have huge tires and wheels that kill me, but obviously i didn't buy a v6 camaro to be a drag racer. All in all i am impressed with its ability to keep up with stuff from a 60mph roll tho. pretty impressive and a 14 sec v6 car is relatively impressive since it's built to have a big v8 in it. tough to move these things off the line lol.

Best magazine times got the Mustang PP in the 13.6 - 13.7 range while the Camaro has achieved around 14.1 or 14.2 best.

Well worst case scenario I'll have a reason for ordering some forced induction! It seems like 98 percent of v6 mustangs on the road are without the performance package.

You'll get worked with that 3.91 rear end. The SS 3.45 gears would do you much better.

Lol I agree most of em are.
How are the ligenfelter 3.70 gears? They seem expensive but reason their description it seems like very high quality stuff. Also how are the Richmond 3.73s holding up? I believe the 3.55s were breaking or some members were having trouble with them. I think the 3.70-.73 ratio would be a little better once I go suoercharged one day, in the long run.
