HRE FF04 Tarmac on Silver ZL1
Just picked up a set of HRE FF04s from another member here, and couldn't find any pics on a silver ZL1, so I thought I'd post some pics, and some specs...
HRE FF04 in Tarmac, stock ZL1 sizes (20x10, 20x11) Toyo R888R, 285/30-20, and 315/30-20 On my bathroom scale, the fronts were 56.5 lbs and rears 59.5 lbs. Using tire weights for the R888Rs from Tirerack, that puts the HRE wheels at 25.5lbs each. Compared to 67 and 68lbs for the stock wheels with Bridgestone RE980AS, these take 10.5lbs off each front corner and 8.5lbs off each rear corner. 38lbs total, which will make for a big difference on track. Anyway, here's some pics: I think I'll be swapping the tires around so I can run these as the daily wheel. They're too pretty to run them only on the track. |

Wheels look great! Really like the Tarmac color against the silver. Makes a nice contrast.
I love my FF04s. They're a great looking and well constructed wheel for the money. The fact that they drop a few pounds per corner over the stock wheels is icing on the cake.

Man that looks nice and while I’d love to save that kind of weight on wheels I’m wary to make that investment given our really crappy roads here, our frost/thaw cycles do a number on them, new roads don’t last long except for concrete.
Given the factory wheels are forged and heavy is insurance, I hit a pot hole I didn’t see in time so hard I would have sworn should have bent the rim, it surprisingly did not, not sure I’d be able to say the same for a rim ten pounds lighter. |

Rodan, I'm guessing this won't come as news to you, but another advantage to FF04s besides their good looks and weight savings is they're a heck of a lot easier to clean than the stock wheels.
I'd highly recommend getting them ceramic coated if yours aren't already. Makes them even easier to clean. A lot of times just a rinse with a power washer will remove the brake residue from mine.

Absolutely... the stock wheels are a PITA! Another factor in wanting to run them as the 'daily' wheels.

I have the exact same wheels on my white car, looks perfect on silver. Great choice!
