"The 2020 Camaro is expected to continue being offered with the same engines and transmissions as the 2019 model. However, it has been rumored that the model will also offer two new engines for the high end."

Maybe LT5??!!

Exactly. Taillights aren't THAT bad, especially on new Zl1. But the front .... yikes.

Low cost V8 trim? Then get a V6 or 4-turbo! There is a reason a GOOD V8 performance car doesn't come cheap.

I looked at the SS trims really hard. At the end of the day I decided that I really wanted the leather, HUD, vent-fan seat and such. I was also budget bound as we paid cash due to no special 0% financing being out there. So we selected a fairly base 2SS A8 - and that ticked all the boxes.

In comparing what else is out there in the price range the Camaro was not a bad value (although the resale would suck). A fully loaded Toyota Avalon has a similar sticker... I know that's not apples for apples - but a V8 with 455HP coupe 2SS at 40k plus tax and license is not horrific.

A low cost V8? Would it even be the LT1? How would they cheap-it-out?

Then again who knows. Will be interesting to see what comes down the pipe.

A low cost V8 would be a stripper version like they offered with the 4th gens. Just performance engine, ac, and optional Bose stereo. Everything else basic...manual cloth seats, basic controls, 18" wheels...etc. basically a LT trim with a LT1 engine.

Saw a truck load heading south on I69 and those taillights are fricking ugly.

I'll take a base model with a V8 and manual transmission- less things to go wrong and break. The simpler the better......and less cost......

I don't see how you could make the current base 1ss any more basic. It already has the base audio, seats, no sunroof, no options. Unless they took away the bigger brakes and LSD.

I was thinking the same thing unless they do what Dodge did and offer a lower HP V8 basic version.

It's like when I see a base Mustang and the interior is just so meh. I understand people want a more affordable car but having things stripped out isn't necessarily the solution either. Pay to play my friends.

Pay to play is dumb. Some of the best and fastest cars of all time are stripped out cars with big motors. Nobody needs leather, seat heaters, and blind spot monitoring to "play".

Or basically a 1SS.

And they're not putting a 455 HP Car on the same 18" Wheels as the 1LT's have, wouldn't be a good idea.
