The RS3s are a summer-only tire and have way more grip than the Comp-2 a/s do. The Comp-2 a/s are better in the rain and snow. No free lunch unfortunately. The BFGs last a lot longer, too. At $350 each the RS3s get kind of expensive to daily drive on.

I rarely drive my car at the limits of the tires on the street anyway so I find the BFGs to be very good without having to worry about the weather and cold temperatures.

I just got back from a trip to So. Cal. in the ZL1. My appreciation for the car and these BFG's continues to grow. Heavy rain events from Idaho to California, hard acceleration runs on the Interstate, the tires never broke loose, the temps dropped into the low 40's over the tops of a couple 7000 foot passes and they held solid as a rock.

I spoke to them last night and heard similar news.

Finally starting to warm up here so have to swap out my Sottozeroes...not looking forward to the traction (or lack thereof) on the GYs...

I have a set on back order through my tire dealer. I call BF Gooodrich about every 3 weeks to check on the status of the tires... As of a week ago, they planned to produce 3200 285's in the next three weeks but had no plan to make 305's as of yet :(. The customer service rep told me the farthest outlook they have on tire mfg is 3 to 4 weeks. My Goodyears are cashed out.... and I need tires ASAP!

Yeah I tried to get these. I had one of my Goodyears start to fail after running them why too long. Ended up with new Goodyears for now as I also could not weight. Really sucks the lack of choice for these cars.

I got these at my local Chevrolet dealership, they had a tire sale and were selling tires at $5 over their cost. Total cost for a set of 4 out the door was $760 including $50 rebate from BF Goodrich

The more I drive in the rain, the more I love these tires!

Anyone have any updates on the 305s availability? Ordered some today but wondering if I should cancel and just stick with the 285...

My 305's have been ordered since late March. They aren't scheduled to ship until early June.

BFG/Michelin is notorious about their back-order nonsense. Whenever I have had to call up for availability for vehicles we're replacing tires on they always give the generic 2 month window for the next production loop.

Thankfully I stayed with the '11 SS OEM sizes since I haven't upgraded wheels yet, and was able to get them. Definitely some of the best tires I've seen available, though I wish they were the correct speed rating. BFG usually doesn't make many Y or (Y) rated tires, so they can make you buy Michelins instead.
