Weight savings alone make 6th gen a huge improvement over 5th gen.

Most people don't even know there is a new generation coming out. And once the 6th gen arrives, most people still won't realize it. The 5th and 6th gens look almost identical to the average person. I really don't see a mad rush to trade happening. I think 5th gen prices will hold, the same as they did when the '13, '14, and '15 models came out. 200 lbs means a lot to guys on this forum.... it means nothing to the average person walking into a dealership. Do you know anyone who asked what a car weighed before they bought it?

6th gen or not.. 5th gens are depreciating fast. The second you drive a zl1 off the lot it isn't worth 50 grand. No matter how great of a car it is if theres a bagillion of them sitting for sale the price is going no where but down

For some reason, in my area, and apparently on the Camaro5 car sales forum, prices on the 2010 Camaro are still in the high 20's to low 30's. I find that weird sine a 2015 is a few thousand more.

The 5th Gen Camaro has won yearly awards for highest resale value from Kelly Bluebook. The car has maintained it's desirability for years and the resale value has been strong, both in V6 and V8 models.

I do want a 5th gen, hence why I'm making this inquiry, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't like a 6th gen lol. Most 5th gen lovers on this forum can probably say that they'd like a 6th gen too but are in my boat with the fact that a 40k+ '16 model car isn't in the cards for them and that they're more than happy in a 5th gen that they love lol.

Cars in general do that. If there was a car I could daily drive that appreciated or even held its value, would be owning that instead.
