The Z/28 will get the new motor coming out in the C8, IMO.

That engine would make the most sense to me, but then IMO the Z/28 would not be top dog. I think that would still be held by the ZLE but that's just me

IMO the Z/28 doesn't need to be the top of the food chain, bc until the 5th gen car it never was. |

2SSRS@Gen5diy: I understand the ZL1 made more power with the LSA. I'm sure due to pricing, available options and lap times, the Z/28 got placed as the "top dog". Not saying I was the one to put it there, but by general consensus.... and as you said, you dont need to have the most hp of the model series to be considered the best (or do you?) |

A 600+ motor might do the trick, but Corvette tried to go down that route and couldn't hit their power goal of 600+ while passing emissions so I don't see a 600+ NA car coming anytime soon. That is why we have an LT4 powered Z06. I personally think that mid 500s would probably be the most they could do NA and still pass emissions. I have said it before, and maybe it's me being a pessimist or maybe I just hold the ZLE that high. I don't see a Camaro variant with less power outdoing what the ZLE has done. And if it was done, that would mean lots lof light weight materials which means expensive which I don't see a business case for other than look what we did. |

If I remember right, Corvette also wanted AFM in the engine, so it was a combination of AFM not letting them rev high enough to make their goals, and not meeting mileage goals without AFM.

I understand that. But if it were to come out for a 1 or 2 year run and then be done...... where a gen 7 would then take over.
