Possible LT4 Power Increase?

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/cadill...111156221.html

Not sure how credible this is, but we can hold out hope for a more powerful ZL1!

Ya I've heard that on Matt Farrah's podcast last week. I imagine they all might be getting a bump, especially if the Z06's cooling is what is holding it back in terms of power.

The CT6 is supposedly getting a DOHC TTV8 displacing 4.2 liters and making high 400 hp. Cadillac may move the CTS-V to a bigger displacement version of that engine.

Good to hear. Hopefully closer to 700 hp. I just hope they release the 2017 Camaro ZL1 on time (September'ish). They waited too long on the 2016 Camaro.

I expect to be pleasantly surprised. We know they were working on the ZL1 much earlier than when it was released...but there were problems like that pesky Bankruptcy to overcome...No such issues this time.

I kind of figured that GM would bump up the horsepower for the ZO6 LT4.

I am waiting on what the new ZL1 Camaro will be.

My feeling is GM should give the ZL1 at least 665hp just to say screw you to the old 662hp GT500.

Make the ZO6 have 675hp to keep it a tad more than the Camaro...I would prefer the Camaro to have more.

As for the Caddy...655hp is good enough.

Then again...The more power the better...Hopefully my assumptions are off to the low end.

Anything in the 700+ range...Change my plans from building another 1968 Camaro to getting myself a 2017 ZL1.

I would like to see them use a larger blower. 1.9-2.1

If GM used a slightly bigger blower and makes a few weeks then there is no reason why they can't make the same power as the FatCat.

If the LT4 made the same power as the FatCat Hemi then the ZL1 Camaro or ZO6 vette would be very low 10 sec to high 9sec cars.

Both engines are 6.2 liters so GM should be able to work more magic to equal the Hemi's #'s.

If the heat from the blower was causing all the issues, and there are complaints of it feeling snappy under tip-in throttle, then just make the hood a little larger and put a bigger blower on there.

Problem is they never should have made a catch-all for the high performance Corvette.

How useful is 700HP? Just a small patch of rubber connecting it to the ground! Dyno Queen? Maybe a drag car with 10 in slicks.

Because I'm a horsepower junkie. That horsepower is still very useful when your already rolling. That's what I loved about the bikes I've owned in the past (Suzuki Hayabusa, Kawasaki ZX-14R). The acceleration they had from 70mph was just awsome.
