I so badly want one of these, but am unwilling to use hood pins or sacrifice the gas struts. I wish they made a reinforced version!

I don't use hood pins. Been well over 100mph (Mexico) still use gas shocks. No problem. Have had mine on for over a year.

I have one. I use one gas strut and no hood pins. Hit over 100 everyday and open my hood to mods here and there and I have no cracks or chips or anything

I see that you didn't install the "recommended" heat shield. Any warping issues? Also, does the hood latch come pre-installed?

No heat shield. No problems. Latch is already installed. I just bolted it on strait out of the box and never had any problems.

Will a Holley Hi-ram fit under it?

burnningice, how is the fitment? Gaps around the finders? Any height mismatching?
I have been looking at this hood for awhile now and really want to get one, but am concerned about any flaws that the company would consider acceptable. I read AC's warranty, kind of has me concerned.

It sure looks nice on your car.

Thanks

The fitment is probably the best that you'll ever find. I absolutely love these guys and they make a fantastic product. Gaps are great. When. They make parts, they start with an OEM part and modify it so fitment is paramount. To give you another reference, most of the modern muscle cars at SEMA are using their parts. Top shelf products.
