The controls for zoom , your route overview etc.. take several seconds to go away and take a lot of screen real estate. Anyone know how to dismiss it without waiting?

The interaction icons will stay on the screen for 30 seconds. There is no action to specifically make them go away with a screen press other than to wait. However, if you change modes (weather, audio, etc.) or if you interact with the navigation icon - which cycles through the current view mode (3D heading up, 2D heading up or 2D north up) it will make the icons disappear from the screen). You may find one of those tricks faster than waiting the 30 seconds but otherwise, you are forced to wait it out.
