Check mustang6g. Ford just let journalists get their first drives in the today. Saw a little video clip of a guy driving one. The new engine sounds great. Its revs just keep climbing. Be interesting to see the numbers on it.

Reviews are trickling out. I think the embargo ends around midnight and some sources are letting the cat out of the bag early.
http://www.detroitnews.com/story/opi...urns/32434845/ This one, while light on details, has a couple that will raise some eyebrows. Dodge and Chevy.... you've got some work to do. |

Oh my...
The video I just saw had the z28 doing it in just a hair under 1:38. I'd say if I could afford or justify spending upper $40k's for a 2SS, I'd be trying to get my hands on a base GT350 instead. |

I love this car, it's gonna be a monster track car. And starting with an MSRP of under 50k, you'll be getting a lot for the money. It's starting price should be very close to that of a fully loaded 2SS.
They'll most likely be price gouging for mark ups, but that's another story. |

Wow. Kudos to Ford. I wonder what the chances of getting one of these at MSRP next year will be?
I'll definitely be taking a hard look in the spring. Thank you Ford, for forcing everyone to step up their game!

Over on Mustang6G's GT350 section some people have gotten 350's for at or below MSRP. Not as many prospective 350R owners have been successful though.
While a base 350 isn't nearly as comfortable as a loaded 2SS it also will be a much more pure performance machine. Hand built and unique 5.2 FPC, lightweight transmission, wider and better tires. It's not for everyone and everyone's sensibilities are different. At my core I'm a drag racer so the GT350 isn't mu bag, but it's going to be a stupendously great car. |
