Having GM take back the car is the smart move. Say for some reason you decided to keep it and then sold it or worse yet, traded it in on another vehicle. The Carfax report would show a replacement engine and no matter how good everything turned out, you'd take a major haircut on the price they'd offer.

No, there are still a few weeks left, you may get lucky if they authorize a new build for you.

If you could do a build. What would you get.

I'd build a radiant red tintcoat 2SS 1LE, or maybe a ZL1 if I had the extra cash to pony up for the difference, manual or automatic, whichever you prefer (both have advantages).

Also, I like navigation integrated into the cluster and the HUD, so I'd option that in, but other than that, not much; maybe red calipers and knee pads plus the carbon fiber dash panel, but I wouldn't insist on anything that may be limited availability and jeopardize my build.

They're shutting the 2024 Camaro assembly line and ending 2024 Camaro production on 12/7/2023, so don't delay if they're offering to build one for you. Best of luck

Get one of the last ones built for you, and keep it forever! Build a nice, loaded 2SS M6, or make it a 1LE if u think u need that extra grip, and equipment.

Update? OP, did you opt for a new build, and if so what trim/options?
What a position to be in! Order a new one built to your spec right at the end of production!
