Cam Motion Titan 3

Looking at a 1LE with a Cam Motion Titan 3 cam in it. Believe it's 226/138 113lsa. Does anyone here have experience with this cam? Looking for some feedback on how it behaves, especially taking off from a start. Does it buck or shutter? Car is an M6. Also could I expect the smell of unburnt fuel when it's sitting idling? Thanks for any feedback.

It's going to shake @ idle and it's going to have more fuel smell. That is the nature of the beast with cams that have positive overlap.

I don't mind the car shaking at idle. My biggest concern was starting out in first from a stop. Wondered if there are any quirks to get it going or if it Jenks? I don't mind the smell of unburnt fuel but the wife hates it. Had a LS with a decent cam and sometimes you smelled like it after riding in the car for awhile.

ethanol is easy and reliable. a no brainer on na cars.

consider its a large cammed, heavy vehicle with a 28" tire (if stock wheels) and 373 gears. it might take some practice to nail down smooth operation at low speeds.

Thanks for the info. Kind of figured it would take some practice to get used to. May just keep looking for another car.

My cam is similar around 226 / 236 on 116 or 118 LSA (sorry forget, probably 116) uses Cam Motion's .598 lift lobe (don't want to go over that, long story). With your 113 LSA the cam should have a stronger midrange than mine (I run both NA and supercharged). You will have some medium heavy loop, with cats in my long tubes, and anywhere from 2 to 4 (modified factory cats) on my stock header, I did not notice too much increase in smell. I would expect no cats to be a different story. The setup really likes heads, MSD, TB, and IMO 2" headers, my fuel cut is 7300 RPM and I'm usually done right at 7000, I no longer can use no lift shift or I die. I do have aftermarket engine mounts so the car is slightly twitch like a 396 375 HP Camaro...

I'll probably go for a hi-ram (eye candy), but I think the 113 LSA would work fine with the MSD or LT2 (I'd pick the MSD) with this cam.

Run Johnston lifters
Order at least 6 extra pushrods in + / - size as setting preload is an absolute must.

Have fun...
