Unhappy

I hate the no front grille and 4 door Camaro. Why not continue as 2 door coupe? Also EV vehicles without engine or exhaust sound, a better choice would be a V8 Hybrid engine

78 day and 75 night here as well. When it is mid to high 90s in Florida you are not go to be able to get the home to 70 degrees anyway unless you have a smaller home with a low heat load and an oversized AC unit. A 20 degrees difference between outside and inside is about all they AC units can muster and the unit will never shut off so expect huge electric bills.

Or worse. My coworker is a renter who has thermostat set at 70, and the unit is constantly breaking down.

68 at night 73 during the day. House was built in '84 and well insulated throughout. Original separate Trane split units for upstairs/downstairs. Previous owners rebuilt downstairs unit and I rebuilt upstairs unit about a year after purchase. Power bill is probably the cheapest of any place I've lived based on squared footage of area cooled. Just slightly more $$ than my rental property with one unit.

Absolutely I would buy an EV Camaro.

It will be fast and quick, and the power will come from the solar array on my roof, so it will be 100% green.

The refueling will be green but the production of the car is far from green. Lithium mining and all the other minerals needed to build EV’s outputs a ton of emissions and bi-products in a relatively short span of time.

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against EV’s… but we are not being fed the full truth about their environmental impact and gasoline cars are made to look much dirtier in comparison when in reality their emissions output is overall fairly similar.

A what price though?

Assume it does 0-60 in under 4 sec. 1/4 mile in mid 11s. Assume it gets about 275 miles of range per charge. It has mag ride, some cool styled wheels, fancy brakes that you won't use much due to regen braking, some decent tech, sporty seats and large use of displays as seen on all the new GM products.

$50k-$60k?

Probably twice that, and well worth it. And BTW, mag ride has already been rendered obsolete by a cleverly engineered passive design that needs no electricity. It will debut on the Caddy EV.

Engineering!

Why twice? Have you ever driven an EV? You lose a lot of character and driving engagement. Maybe a Cadillac Escalade EV but a Camaro EV? It needs to be $40-$60k or it will never sell.

A Tesla Model 3 Performance is around $60k. How many Camaro buyers will sign up for a $100k EV? Might as well spend $145k at that point and get a Model S Plaid so you can a least run 9 sec 1/4 miles.

A passive design to debut on an EV (oh, the irony) that somehow "obsoletes" an active, electronically controlled, fully programmable, proven solution. Interesting.
