Why are nice cars a magnet for bad things to happen?

Maybe it is because I baby my Camaro more than other cars I have owned, but it feels like nature is just waiting to get a shot at a nice car. I’ve only had my car since April, but in that time:

I had a road gator (tire debris) get kicked up by the car in front of me and hit square on my left front fog light. Blew the entire fog light assembly out and left a huge black mark on the white paint. Off course, I had just recently put LED bulbs in place of the original halogens. Luckily, somehow everything was still intact behind the wheel well so I was able to snap the assembly back into place and the new bulb took no apparent damage. A little wax to remove the black mark and I was back to good condition.

Recently, I went to a concert and parked in a parking garage. It was raining. I didn’t realize that the rain water was dripping onto my car from above through a crack in the concrete. The next day I notice a mark where the water dripped and a trail all the way down the side of the car where it ran off. Washing it did not work. Wax did not work. I tried some Meguiar’s Scratch X which improved things but there was still a faint mark. Luckily, an internet search identified white vinegar as a fix for this problem. Worked like a charm. Another potential disaster averted.

I won’t even mention the bird dirt strikes. I don’t park under any trees and they still seem to find it.

Makes me afraid to leave the garage sometimes...

It’s not that I just feel some cars are just Jinxed. I have one right now that I bought back in April that I have had two flat tires and two wheels damaged from curbs. I haven’t had either one happen to me one time before in the last 20 years...
I had one that years ago that got hit three times while I owned it, all three times it was sitting still when someone hit it. I sold that car to my brother and one winter the snowplow hit it in front of his house and knocked it up on the curb.. Jinxed!!

In the spirit of the season, count thy blessings. Some recent concert goers in Las Vegas didn’t survive the show. You came home with a dirty car. : /

Some cars are just unlucky....

My 2011 SS would always get bird pooped...and of course it was black so certainly it the birds felt compelled to bomb it. My last 2 were red and had no issues with the birds, go figure.

Good lord man! I'd need tons of therapy, both mental and physical, and lots of medication. I got ptsd from a scuff that's repairable. Did you get any injuries in either crash?

Walked away from both just a little sore luckily. If people wouldn’t drive distracted, I wouldn’t have an issue!! Said I was done with camaro, but here I am 9 months later and just bought another one.

OP, I'm not sure what your complaint is. This is just normal things that happen to any car that is driven. If you want it pristine, park it in your garage and cover it.
Shit happens people. Your cars nor you are jinxed. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy by how and where we drive or park.
I drive my car only in the summer on sunny days. I have paint chips, windshield chips, a deer ran out in front of me and clipped my front fascia with its hoof. I have run over curbs I didn't see. Its just shit that happens.

Another thing I just remembered was the car that kept being hit while it was parked is the same one I got my last speeding ticket in 40 years ago..LOL

Nobody can convince me that car was not Jinxed.
