Definitive belt size for 9.17" lower?
Hi all
Need a bit of help! Car goes into the Shop on Monday and I've just received my Super Damper and 15% OD Pulley ( 916227). The belt I received as part of the package is a K080842HD The research I've done says most people use the 845HD or even the 845RPM. Has anyone used the 842 or will it be too tight? If I go 845, is it worth getting the RPM variant? Many thanks and any help appreciated if I need to order something today and express ship across the Pond!

I would recommend the 845HD belt for the 9.17 lower.
You might read through this post regarding my experience with the 842 and the 845 as well as the RPM vs the HD belts. Analysis is not scientific but the results speak for themselves. You might be OK with the 842 in the HD variant. And you might be OK with the RPM in the 845 variant but not the 842RPM variant. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=523261

Don’t use the rpm belt. I broke one and most people have went back to the hd belt.

I'd stick with the Gates HD Micro-V Belts. I've got the same balancer but maggy 2300 on the other end, no issues.
When you get it on look where you tensioner lands. Make sure it won't bottom out to the left or is so far right you don't have enough tension. Here is my K080859HD with 9.17" and 3" upper on my 2300. This is a little left of center and is prior to first start so it will likely land in the center.
