Lowering

Has anyone considered lowering the front end? I seem to have trouble seeing over the hood when watching for objects in the road or curbing. My head is almost touching the roof.

No that’s never been done on a Camaro.

Increase your eye lead time when driving...look further down the road and take everything in. Looking directly in front of your hood when driving is unsafe.

No you don't understand. At slow speed when going around curbing at drive throughs or any obstacles it's hard to see the road directly in front of me.

Lowering the car won’t help that. And this is a 6th gen forum.
I think all of us here understand the corner visibility.
It’s honestly not much different than a lot of sports cars - corvette for sure.
Also cars have high belt lines these days due to federal crash regulations.
So this is not unique to the 6th gen Camaro.

Try this. Don't know the cost but it might be a solution for you.

All of us Camaro owners seem to have that problem Danny C but we learn to live with it and be more attentive and careful when driving our cars! I understand what you are dealing with but there’s really nothing that can be done to improve the visibility when driving. My thought on it would be I’m glad I own and drive a Camaro especially a ZL1. It really is hard to see over the ZL1 hood because of the heat extractor but I have learned through driving that I am more careful now than I was when I had my 2016 SS. Good luck!

Learn how to drive.

I always practice by running cans/etc over with different tires to gauge where the car is on the road. Or, just set some aluminimum cans up in a vacant lot and drive around squishing them.

It is an issue indeed, but there aren't many (practical) solutions.

you need pretty good situational awareness with these cars, more so than others I've driven.

I pride myself in never having curbed a wheel, or hit anything with any splitters or bumpers on anything I've driven, but almost every used car I've bought has all of the above.

having said that, negotiating turns with curbs are still butt puckering.

Adding wider than spec tires gives you a little more protection from curbing the wheels. It's already helped me once.

TBH this post is alittle underrated and I completely understand the OP's concerns. I disagree that all sports cars are like this, I am easily able to gauge where my 4th Gen is on the road vs my 6th Gen. Yes. It's a pain in the neck especially when going through narrow curbed areas like ATM drive thrus or narrow curbed turn lanes. So far I've driven this car almost 2 years now and have only ate curbs twice, and of those times only one scuffed a wheel slightly. I try to use other points of reference to pinpoint where I am or try to come into these areas in a way that I know I will go directly through it. Other points of reference for example, when pulling into a parking space, use the reflection of parked cars to determine how close your nose is to the curb, I always back in which helps as the camera is good at guiding you into a spot.
