I thought mine was idling a little rough also. I put some Seafoam in and it did help.

As long as you are not feeling any hesitating on acceleration, stalling out, loss of power, and you don't have any check engine lights coming on, I'd say it's probably fine. When I first start mine up and I'm standing behind it I can hear a definite almost misfire sound. It goes away once the engine is at normal operating temperature.
I hear the misfire sound also. That is what I meant by the loping sound I hear when I am inside the car.

I used Shell V-power when I had my SS and alternative between Shell and Chevron in the ZL1. Of course the octane available depends on the region of the USA where you live.
It sure is reassuring to know that its normal. I was a little worried...

These engines do have a rough idle. Put some seafoam thru it since it sat so long. And run premium fuel only.

I have the same issue. I do NOT believe it is normal or a high compression/cam symptom because the engine did not do this for the first 15K miles. It is a misfire and it happens the same way each time, and about 90% of the times I start the car. I start the engine cold, it starts to misfire after about 15-20 seconds, and stops a few seconds after that. All is good after that. Every time the same. Also, it only does this first thing in the morning, not even after sitting at work all day.

Perhaps an injector issue. I know the dealer will tell me nothing is wrong, so I'll bring it in if and when it gets worse.

Every V8 equipped pony/muscle car I've ever owned rocked the car a little during idle. It's normal... and awesome.
Same here, my '98 Z28 did it, my '96 LT4 Corvette did it, my 2011 SS LS3 Camaro did it, my 2017 Charger R/T did it, and my 2018 SS Camaro does it. Now, by a bit rough, I mean that it shake a little bit, typically in the transition from open loop to closed loop. As long as it isn't acting like it's out of gas, or experience hesitation on acceleration, or knocking or pinging, it sounds like normal operation of a 455 hp Chevy small block to me.

What do you mean by knocking and pinging? Thanks!

Yeah MrChris, my 1998 SS had it plus a slight piston slap with the LS1 and of course my 2010 SS with the LS3 had a slight rough idle when cold starting too until the engine warmed up. The LS3 was worse than the LT1 that was in my 2016. My LT4 has slight rough idle too!

LS6 in the C5Z had a pretty lopey idle for a factory motor. Worse than the LT1. It's pretty smooth all things considering. But it doesn't idle like a BMW or AMG or Porsche V8.

I can feel my LT4 shake the car here and there. Doesn’t feel abnormal by any means. Gives a small hint of cam chop here and there while idling.
When it shakes the car it’s just telling me it’s hungry and needs some cat or horse meat.

my car did the same thing. rough idle. it was the plugs. after swapping them for a fresh set, the car idles very smooth in all conditions.

stock cams “chopping” haha ok

I know. Wishful thinking. Absolutely nothing like the solid roller in my other car
But it does kinda feel cool when the car rocks back and forth a bit. Reminds me there is some good torque there.
