MyLink issues...

Not a major issue, but a real PITA.

Issue 1: My private drive is well shaded, so in the AM when I drive through it, which is maybe 10 feet of shade, the screen, etc. goes to night mode. Problem is, as soon as I am out of the shade, I am in blaring sunlight and the screen stays dark for a long period of time and as soon as I hit direct sunlight, and I mean the blaring sun, will it come back to day mode.

Issue 2: CarPlay. This is driving me somewhat nuts. MyLink will read that my iPhone is connected, but still not allow me CarPlay access. It takes unplugging the phone multiply times to get it to appear. Sometimes in the middle of a drive it will simply go black and not return until I turn the car off and restart, which is an issue on the highway...

Any ideas?

I had the problem with Car Play and it was the cord. The sensor for the day night is on the dash. Annoying but it is what it is.

Word. It was Android Auto for me, and an inferior quality cord was the culprit. It's not that AA didn't work, it just worked badly, and intermittently.

Took me some time to connect the dots to figure out that was the cause.

CarPlay issues here. For me I think mylink gets confused with Bluetooth connectivity versus CarPlay. Sometimes when I’m patient enough to deal with the issue I’ll just turn Bluetooth off on my phone and cp usually works. The problem is that soon after Bluetooth will turn back on.

2018, iPhone and I'm having the same issues. I've been through two new OEM cords and an aftermarket with negative results. The bluetooth angle is interesting and I will give that a go in the AM. I chatted with the dealer this weekend and they said to drop by during the week and they will update/verify the software version and see if that helps.

Unfortunately issue 1 seems to be the norm, more recent sunlight sensor input delta takes precedence very slowly in my Camaro and other GM cars, too. Probably a trivial fix, but one can't touch this code, unless somebody with insider info cracks it.

I haven't seemed to have had any of these same issues with my new 2019 1SS. Other than an unrelated issue of anyone I'm talking to on the phone through the car stereo gets a decently loud clicking that doesn't stop unless i'm speaking.

The USB port in the console is not very stable. I had the CarPlay connecting/disconnecting thing all the time.

There are some threads on here where people solved the problem by replacing their USB port with a new one.

I also had the same issue, but a new cord and sometimes I have to delete the current apple play configuration. Delete the phone and let it reconnect. I still loose connection sometime still but not very often.

Try to connect the iPhone before starting the car. Never had issues doing this way (iPhone X and now 11 Pro Max).
